Thoughts From Our Satisfied Clients
“For anyone in the security field who values both protection and professionalism, I highly recommend Capitol Hill Clothiers’ bulletproof suits. They offer a level of comfort, flexibility, and discretion that traditional body armor simply can’t match. In our line of work, being able to blend in is critical, and this suit keeps me looking normal and safe.”
“From the first moment I put the suit on, I knew I couldn’t go back. It’s more comfortable than any other body armor I’ve worn. The suit is surprisingly lightweight, flexible, and breathable so I don’t feel constricted in it at all. It’s a game changer, having a well-tailored suit with the confidence that I’m protected.”
Level IIIA Protection
Our 8-9mm thick kevlar will stop the most unexpected pistol threats. Tested for 9mm sub-machine gun and .44 magnum with premium blunt trauma impact protection, this level of protection is the real deal, for when you actively expect a threat.
What Are the Different Levels of Bulletproof Protection?
Level II Protection
Our 5mm thick kevlar is worn by police officers and provides a balance between blunt trauma protection and thickness, conceal-ability, and comfort.
We recommend this if concealment under light clothing is a priority.
Level IIA Protection
Our thinnest kevlar (4mm), for when comfort and conceal-ability are most important to you.
This level can be worn for extended periods and allows for the most mobility.
Bulletproof protection comes in varying levels, each designed to handle specific threats. There are two main categories: pistol threats and rifle threats. Soft bullet-resistant materials, like those found in our Level IIA, Level II, and Level IIIA bulletproof suits, are effective against most pistol rounds and fragmentation, but they can’t stop high-velocity rifle rounds. To defend against rifle threats, a rigid rifle plate (like Level III or Level IV) is necessary.
Level IIA, Level II, and Level IIIA: These levels are designed to protect against the majority of pistol rounds, as well as 12-gauge shotgun shells and OO buckshot. They provide solid protection for everyday wear but still allow for a balance between comfort and concealability.
Level III and above: For rifle threats, a rigid plate is required. These are heavier and less concealable but offer protection against higher-powered rifle rounds.
It’s important to note that no material is 100% bulletproof. The level of protection you choose is all about balancing the degree of defense, comfort, and how easily you can conceal the gear. The main trade-off between protection levels is the amount of blunt trauma impact resistance each offers — higher levels generally provide better protection but can come at the cost of added weight and reduced flexibility. Ultimately, choosing the right protection level is a personal decision based on your specific needs and threat expectations.
