Capitol Hill Clothiers Custom Pants Breakdown

There are loads of options for customizing a pair of dress pants from Capitol Hill Clothiers. From a hidden money pocket to side adjusters instead of a belt, you can customize it all. In this post, we’ll take a look at one of our client’s slacks and why each design and customization choice was made!

The Overall Pants

These pants are made from a breathable hopsack fabric by Vitale Barberis Canonico. This client wanted a statement pair of versatile summer slacks that could work with his existing rotation of sport coats. This baby blue was just bold enough to stand out and easy to pair with! It features a watch pocket with a flap and an adjustable buckle on the waistband instead of belt loops.

The Waistband

The hardware on the adjustable waistband buckle is made of steel and offers a lifetime warranty. This feature allows for up to 6 inches of tightening without a belt and makes life far easier for those whose waistline fluctuates often. The omission of belt loops allow the silhouette of the pants to be sleek and clean, not to mention that the client will never need to worry about pairing his belt with his shoes again!

The Fabric

This gorgeous VBC hopsack is made from 86% Super 120’s merino wool and 14% linen for the perfect blend of wrinkle resistance, breathability, and comfort. The 230-gram fabric weight is ideal for spring and summer, as is the baby blue color!

The Buttons

The buttons selected are genuine mother-of-pearl and very soft to the hand. They offer a great iridescent sheen, which is to be expected of mother of pearl. The iridescence was surprisingly difficult to capture on camera, but you can take my word that these buttons shine in the sunlight!

Every pair of pants is different, and Capitol Hill Clothiers is no exception.
